How to List Your First Item on ToneTrade
Listing on ToneTrade is designed for real instruments — not stock photos from a desktop folder. This walkthrough covers what happens from your first draft to a live listing buyers can checkout with TradeSafe escrow.
Step 1: Create your seller account
Register as a seller and complete the verification ToneTrade moderators need (identity or business documents). You can start drafting listings while approval is pending — they stay private until you are approved.
Step 2: Draft title, price, and condition
On any device, add an honest title, price in rand, and condition (Like new, Used, Refurbished, or For parts). Write a clear description: what is included, known wear, mods, and anything a buyer would care about before paying.
Step 3: Add at least three live phone photos
ToneTrade requires at least three live phone photos of the actual item you are selling — captured through the listing flow on your phone, not uploaded from a computer. Show front, back, controls or headstock, wear, serials where relevant, and accessories laid out. Listings without enough live photos cannot go public.
Step 4: Set shipping
Choose one national courier and delivery fee (or free shipping) per listing. You can also offer pickup or local delivery within a radius — those options appear at checkout only when the buyer’s address qualifies. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy for the full model.
Step 5: Publish after approval
Once ToneTrade approves your seller account and your listing has the required live photos, it can go public automatically. When a buyer pays, ship only after TradeSafe confirms funds are in escrow. Full seller rules: Seller Policy.
